Review of Casablanca (1943) by Ulla D — 30 Dec 2013
My favorite movie of all time! Our story starts with Rick, a cafe owner who helps Nazi refugees escape to the USA during World War II. His former flame, Ilsa, who he met in Paris, comes to his cafe for help.
So the question is, does Rick do what's best for Ilsa and help her escape or does he go with her, knowing that she's married? This movie also features one of my favorite movie theme songs, "As Time Goes By".
An interesting fact: although the movie is famous for the quote "Play it again, Sam", Humphrey Bogart never actually says this. He only says "Play it, Sam"!
