Review of Casablanca (1943) by Niloo R — 27 Jul 2014
It's easy to see why this film is a classic. even watching it for the first time, I felt nostalgic, as if I were returning to an old favourite for the umpteenth time. the story thrills and compels, leading to a beautiful end that exemplifies "surprising yet inevitable".
the dialogue is sharp, witty and heartfelt, and humphrey bogart oozes enough charm, chivalry and class to make you melt in your seat. a wonderful film i'll watch for the rest of my life.
