Review of Casa de Mi Padre (2012) by Richard S — 12 Jan 2013

This was suppoosed to be part send up and part tribute to old Mexican revenge thrillers. The problem is it doesn't really work as either. There are a few laughs as the film is purposely badly edited, there are obvious product placements, the special effects are laughable and exterior shots are played out with toy cars but it's not consistantly funny.

Then as a tribute, it doesn't work either as it lacks the pace, the madness and the entertainment value compared to the recent Grindhouse tributes.
