This is a really visceral and up close look at the drug wars from the ground. Some amazing footage particularly from the Mexican side. It shows how hopeless the situation really is. The government is corrupt, the law on both sides of the border is non existent and even the good guys turn into the bad guys. Add in Narcos, Sicario, Escobar:Paradise Lost and this has been the year of cartel themed movies and this one is another excellent version. Award worthy.
