Review of Cars 3 (2017) by Christopher H — 17 Jun 2017
I was a kid in 2006 when the first Cars came out, so a lot of the easter eggs for older fans or just people who remember the first movie were great--and not overbearing, like they are in many sequels. I loved it, and I loved the attention that this movie paid to Doc Hudson's character and his impact on Lightning's career. The film leaves the audience off with the real possibility of another car taking Lightning's place in future sequels, and I'm fine with that because of how expertly it was done, although I most likely will not watch in the future.
There was very little Tow Mater/Sally Carrera/Radiator Springs crew, but it didn't hurt the film at all.
