Review of Cars 3 (2017) by Late R — 17 Dec 2017
Although spectacularly animated (the texturing is insane) with some gorgeous shots, the story itself is classic, at best, and rather generic at its worst, but it has its sweet moments and the poignancy of the message is undeniable.
Nevertheless, it never really soars to the heights of Pixar's other works and is a mediocre film that is obviously milking every last bit of nostalgia possible, and still not managing to be as exciting or engaging as you'd hope.
Kids may enjoy it, especially young girls who could find themselves empowered by the female co-lead, but overall, it feels like the right time for this particular series to retire for good.
