Review of Cars 3 (2017) by John B — 03 Jul 2017
The Cars series comes full circle to it's original roots. This third film rekindles the spirit of the first film. This is the movie that should have been Cars 2. I took my kids to see it, and they loved it.
I enjoyed it thoroughly. The story had a lot of heart and sends a great message to children and adults alike. There were also quite a few funny moments, just as in the first film (for example, a part where the Rust-Eze guys remind Lightning, "Hey kid, do us one favor-Don't drive like my brother! Hey, don't drive like my brother!").
The simpleness of this third film is, at it's core, what makes it so great. It's a story about mentorship and understanding what's most important in life.
