Review of Cars (2006) by Antony G — 11 Jan 2013
For me the history of Disney-Pixar has been more miss than hit but this one certainly hits the spot. It's just pure genius, only the Toy Story Franchise & The Incredibles better this movie in Pixar's back catalogue. The animation is excellent although I think some of the clever scenery will be lost on the kids. If there is a weakness with this film it's the script, it's a little weak & predictable but I don't think the target audience will care much about that!
Lightening McQueen is an ambitious racing car & is on the verge of winning the Piston Cup in his rookie season but on his way to the drive off he loses his way & ends up in a small forgotten town, Radiator Springs. While stuck in this ghost town the residents teach McQueen the true meaning of team work & the real values of friendship & family.
