Review of Cars (2006) by Davidg. — 12 Jun 2006
A compelling story combined with the most georgeous CG renders in any Pixar movie to date (or any movie to date?) make Cars the perfect movie for the whole family. There is an ideal blend of humor, drama and passion throughout the movie.
Certainly a lot of heart, as the arogant Lightning McQueen learns and evolves as a character. His transformation is well received It's not as young-feeling as Toy Story, mind you. There are some themes here that are paced slower and clearly geared (no pun intended) towards an older audience.
No matter, the kids love it, too and typically warm up to the tow truck Mater and Italian sportscar fanatic Luigi. Don't miss the special scenes at the end of the movie during the credits.
