I am too old to have this listed as my favorite movie, but it is what it is. The journey is what matters and even though the plot is simple I have watched this movie over and over with (and without) my kids and still get a little choked up at the end.
And not in the negative Bambi/Dumbo sorry of way. This is an uplifting movie that suggests that your choices matter and that those around you should matter more to you.
