Cars is a very fun film to watch, the visuals are outstanding, the jokes are very subtle, yet are hilarious, but there's just something missing here. It is honestly, one of Pixar's most visually engaging films, but the screenplay leaves a lot left to be desired.

While the concept is very imaginative, and touches on some essential themes, I just think there are some flaws in the story and concept. For one, the way they did this picture, you don't even need cars, people would have worked fine.

And if your gonna do it with cars, then you can at least come up with something a little more imaginative plot wise. However, this film does somewhat succeed at delivering its message, which is that we are living a little too fast these days, and we need to stop and enjoy life more, but I wouldn't say they accomplish this as well as other Pixar films.

John Lasseter proves that he still knows how to create a visually rapturous environment for his fun characters to thrive in, and it really is the characters who make this film as good as it is. They are so charming, witty, and nearly all of them give a little bit of insight into what this film is truly about.

But overall, I'd say that Cars is one of Pixar's inferior films, although, if it was made by any another studio, it might be considered a masterpiece. I recommend a viewing of this to see the visual achievement that it is, and to experience the homely atmosphere it creates.
