Cars 2 is a brilliant sequel that is just as entertaining and remarkable as the original Cars. Unlike the first, Cars 2 starts off with a scene with spy cars and a secret mission with new characters. Taking after a classic 007 intro, Finn McMissile (Michael Caine) goes and takes pictures and escapes from a secret oil rig in the middle of the ocean in a glorious and exciting intro.

After this, Cars 2 takes us back to Radiator Springs where Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) brags about how fast McQueen is and gets him to go into a World Grand Prix against arch-nemesis Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro).

McQueen is played by Owen Wilson. Before the first race in Tokyo, another spy in distress places information on Mater; this leads Mater to become mixed up with spies while racers in McQueenâ(TM)s race keep on getting hurt.

McQueen has no clue as to what Mater is doing, this contrast is incredible interesting. The surprising ending is completely surprising and delightful. The plot of this movie is marvelous; it is completely surprising yet believable.

Also, it ends in a message that anyone can appreciate â" sometimes one can have an absolutely amazing friend without realizing it, and you should look for these and keep them. Also, the story line is easy to follow which helps even young children enjoy this movie.

The animation is terrific and amazing to watch. Many action scenes with flying cars and rockets make this a fun movie. Like all Pixar movies, the soundtrack is fitting and a great companion to the movie; this helps one become engaged and enthralled with the plot and action.

All in all, the directors, John Lasseter and Brad Lewis did a great job of putting this movie together. A major strong point of this movie is the fact that is has such wide appeal to many different audiences.

The action kids will enjoy, the witty jokes can be enjoyed by adults, and the story can be enjoyed and comprehended by all. One negative mark this movie may have is that it never slows down except on rare occasions; many people would agree that this is a good thing though.

I recommend this movie for the whole family, anyone of any age should greatly appreciate this splendid masterpiece they have created which is just as good as movies such as Up and Toy Story.
