Review of Carry On Loving (1970) by Paul D — 09 Nov 2007
A neglected work, this plotless sex farce about the comings and goings to and from a marriage agency sees the id erupting all over place; the piece is a late 60s Freudian hallucination, with everyone wanting it, hardly anyone getting it, and when marriage occurs, violence quickly follows.
I wonder if the surrealist genius of Talbot Rothwell will ever be properly recognised? Anyway, who can knock any film which contains a scene in which Charles Hawtrey is arrested for cottaging!
