Review of Carry On Cleo (1964) by Chris M — 05 Jun 2007
Carry On Cleo is one of the best of teh Carry On Franchise -(Cleo,Jack & Convenience).
With the Cleopatra (Buron & taylor film) hot on the heels it was only right and ripe for the Carry On to take their take on the film (They used most of the sets as well!).
And it does not dissapoint. With a superb Script from Tally Rothwell, the innuendo and humor comes thick and fast, and the pace of the film never droops a drop of wine from it's cup.
Practically all the cast are present (bar Winsdor, Jacques and Bresslaw) however it has given us most of the franchises memorable lines. And who can shunt also the elights of the Great late pertwee as a Deaf Oracle!
An Mammoth 5/5!!
'Friends! Romans! .. ' 'Countryman?' 'I KNOW!!'.
