Review of Carry On Cleo (1964) by Richard V — 30 May 2009
Classic Carry on, right down to the 'Infamy/In for me' pun which is arguably the most well known line. Amanda Barrie vamps, pouts and teases as a very attractive Cleo, Sid James and Kenneth Williams occupy their comfort zones, but do it with style and panache and Kenneth Connor and Jim Dale prat about as a strangely stone age Hengest and Horsa.
Silly, puerile and old fashioned....and great for it!
