Review of Carrie (2013) by Brian M — 17 May 2014
A surprisingly good re-make of the Stephen King classic. Performances were great. It was subtly adapted to contemporary times without any glaring oddities. It retains much of the horror and abuse of the forerunner, although this one brings in the supernatural powers a lot more heavily.
The whole movie is perhaps one large sexist work being about the dangers of women, lust, sex and childbirth. In this way it's psychological horror.
