Review of Carrie (2013) by Victoria N — 02 Oct 2014
Incredible movie. The updated and modernized version of Carrie is a more in-depth look into the character and her disturbing relationship with her mother Margaret than the 1976 version. This version also comes with better effects (which is expected as it is almost 40 years later), better suspense, and better performances from its cast, especially Moretz, Moore, and Grier.
This one keeps the viewer's attention a little better by not being too cheesy or over the top like the De Palma version (although his is still a great version), and it does a little better job at remaining faithful to the story.
