Review of Carrie (2013) by Jim L — 21 Feb 2014
This version is nowhere close to the horror story of the original. Kudos to the writers and director in trying to add a few new twists to the pretty linear story. Of course, as you would expect, Julianne Moore delivers a great performance as Carrie's religious crazy mother.
Hugo and Kick-ass famed up and coming star Chloe Grace Moretz does a great job at playing the supernatural crazy girl that is dealing with a ton of crap at school and trying to fit in. Chloe actually does a good job at presenting the complexities of her teenage school relationships and then taking it to a new level in how she is dealing with the supernatural abilities she has been born with and her mom attempting to rid her, or the earth, of evil.
