Review of Carrie (2013) by Kate H — 16 Mar 2014
I picked this up because it was there and I felt like seeing just how bad it was. It wasn't as awful as I anticipated but it is precisely what it is - a remake rather than a reimagining. Carrie White's experience is something that, unfortunately, something that I don't think humanity is ever going to grow out of entirely. The movie stings the way the original does. The added, present day, horror of having that shower scene uploaded as a youtube video makes it just that much worse.
It's a decent film. Nothing new or groundbreaking but it is what it is and the lesson still stands. All of us having a breaking point and you never know what your prey is capable of once that point is reached.
