Review of Carrie (2002) by Scubasteve Walter M — 22 Feb 2014
As my much as I like Chloe, she doesn't really fit the part. She did try to give her best but she still comes out as a beaut. The terror in the movie doesn't rely solely on the story but on the character itself.
Sissy Spacek, the original Carrie, put that exact terror on the table. Despite the failure of casting, Moore did a splendid job as Carrie's mom, she provided the same insane fright as the original one, or even better.
What's astounding in this movie is the visual fx which was never done correctly in the first. Now that we have CG we can see the full potential of Carrie's destructive telekinesis.
