Review of Carrie (2002) by Thomas M — 11 Mar 2014
Good on Moretz for knocking out this role while she's still age-appropriate, but she tends to look more like she was denied dessert than a lifelong victim. Is Moore supposed to be a villain in this movie? She's barely more than a roadblock for Carrie to float over.
Ramping up the telekinetic effects took away from the creep factor, though I appreciated that Carrie's teenage antagonists were such unrepentant psychopaths. Both the theatrical and alternate endings disappointed.
Not a terrible remake, but not necessary, either.
