Review of Carousel (1956) by Brian S — 14 Apr 2008
Pretty average as far as musicals go. the music's fair and the story's pretty interesting and original--much more dramatic than most. I didn't think the drama was well-portrayed though, and the plot seemed choppy and incomplete.
Louise's ballet sequence was entertaining, but random and unnecessary. Nothing outstanding or eternally memorable, but a classic R&H nonetheless.
