Review of Carol (2015) by Sami L — 21 Apr 2016

Great acting, disappointing story. Full of set ups for dramatic events that never materialised. Just because the love story is between two women, doesn't mean that's enough to make it compelling on it's own, there needs to be a build up, a crescendo, or at least a connection with the characters.

I felt none of that and ended up being bored. If Carol's affair has been with a man, there wouldn't have been a movie. Ergo, the story relies on the 'shock factor' of two women kissing or something.

Which is kind of insulting to lesbians, I'd think.
