Absolutely sublime. A slow burn romance with electrifying chemistry and incredible performances from Blanchett and Mara. Both inhabit their characters with astounding skill and are completely the Carol and Therese I know from the book.
With an excellent adapted screenplay from Nagy and Haynes at the helm - The world created is transformative, believable and intoxicating. Every shot is a work of art, from the framing, the colour, the costumes, the set design to the score.
I had high expectations and they were exceeded. I can't wait to see it again.
