Review of Carnal Knowledge (1971) by Andrew L — 31 Dec 2007
Absolutely phenomenal script, great acting, some interesting (but not always appropriate) camera angles. My two favorite scenes are the dialouge playing over the credits at the beginning and the monologue at the very end.
Very interesting look at chauvinism, at the way men view women, and the different paths we take towards love (even though each path is portrayed more cynically than the previous). A very brilliant, very hopeless film.
And of course "the" argument scene is a must for anyone who says they love film. My one real complaint- I could have used a little more empathy.
