Review of Carnage (2014) by Carlos D — 19 May 2012

What was the point of this movie? Was it to show how pretentious people deal with a small problem?

When I first saw the trailer for this movie I got the sense that I was going to see a good dramedy. I was expecting witty and funny one liners and some good character moments. What I got however was just unlikeable characters whining about stupid problems. Don't get me wrong there are some bright spots here and there in the movie, but they are few and too far apart.

I did not care about any of these people or their unsignificant problems. Not to say that that they are 100% unlikeable, but by the end they got pretty damn close. My biggest problem in this movie was Jodie Foster's character, she had no redeemable quality to her, she was just a bitch. She may go down in my list of least favorite movie characters of all time. I was waiting for the moment in the film where we would be shown why Jodie's character is the way she is, but no she is just a annoying bitch.

I have not seen many movies from Roman Polanski but if this is the type of shit that he is making then I think i'll pass. Please don't see this movie.
