Review of Carnage (2014) by Jorge D — 31 Oct 2012
Carnage.
Completely structured dialogues in "Carnage" is a bold attempt to carry theaters designed for a production stage.
The extreme relevance of the themes explored, and the undoubted quality of the quartet of actors who give life to the great duel of words, contribute decisively to make this experience an enjoyable journey into the world of pretentious platitudes and hypocrisies that prevail alongside cynicism, and politically correct.
If the immobility of action - all occurred in the apartment of a couple of players - can cause tiredness the viewer accustomed to the accelerated production, has been rewarding as the real explosion of talent of Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly - apart from Yasmina Reza inspired text and always able direction of Roman Polanski - that transform a simple juvenile fight in a real trigger for war.
Deliciously provocative, bold and urgent!
