My abosolute favorite musical of all time with one of my favorite singers turned actress' of all time Ms. Dorothy Danderidge really captured the essence of Carmen even though she wasn't orginally considered for the role;however, she broke the mold when she became the 1st African American Woman to be nominated for an Oscar, So thank you Ms.
Dandridge for opening the door for us...
