Review of Carlito's Way: Rise to Power (2005) by Dan T — 07 Jan 2009
Seems too quick to reach its ending without a deeper character development. Shot in quick scenes without any real time progression and without much of an artistic flair, seems more like an imitation of other movies than a work looking to build on the novel.
Still, I think Sean Combs gets a bad rap for his performance, look at the lines he was given, and the strength of this movie is that ultimately, it will help quite a few up & coming Latin actors move up the ranks with the numerous good, fresh acting faces introduced here.
