Review of Carlito's Way (1993) by Jhary O — 11 May 2010
Sometimes you have to watch a (near) classic to make you appreciate movies. I had forgotten what a strong script this was and it reminded me of why Pacino will always be one of the greats. It also reminded me of the travesty Hollywood has become.
Carlito's Way carried a solid cast painting a vivid picture of a real and make believe land all at the same time. A gritty reality where one man only wants to escape, a small dream, a realistic dream, but always out of reach.
If you have never seen it you owe it to yourself to watch it and if its been a while since you saw it last, I recommend watching it again.
