Review of Carlito's Way (1993) by Max O — 30 Dec 2008
Like Scarface, but much, much better. Pacino decides to actually calm the hell down occasionally, and his character is more believable and sympathetic. Sean Penn steals the show, though; he's incredibly slimy and sleazy, and there's a scene in which he pulls a gun on John Leguizamo that's just fantastic.
