Review of Carlito's Way (1993) by Robert H — 09 Sep 2012
I like Pacino and Penn as actors. Brian DePamla is a great director. This movie really sucks. DePalma's Scarface, although highly overrated is much better than Carlito's Way. Al Pacino was a total miscast for the role.
The only thing good about the movie is Sean Penn as the devious lawyer. Shooting and chase scene at the end was too long. The last few minutes where Carlito's dying and playing the song, "You're so beautiful" by Joe Cocker is lame.
The film has all the lackluster of a Lifetime made-for-movie.
