Review of Cargo (2006) by Amber W — 22 Sep 2007
The start of the movie is cool and gives hope of an exciting action adventure. THe hero is walking around the market of an African port city, stealing from the stalls and headbutting local cops. The plot crashes hard and fast after that - the guy sneaks on aship going to Europe , commandeered by a pirate-like captain, that throws people over board if they piss him off.
The pirates are smuggling parrots, so theyre rea hardcore. The hero guy is found and starts working on the ship. Then he finds an african girl hiding in the cargo room , and he knows if the captain finds out she will be thrown on the sea.
Eventually they are foound out about, and both of them are facing the wet grave. The hero dude then pushes the girl in the water, before jumping in himself and drowning. Then the captain has a nervous mental breakdown, and saves the girl, gives her a boat to be on her way, and also sends all his pirate crew on their way in another boat.
Then he carries the dead body of the "hero" (that couldnt even swim) down to the cargo room, and opens all the parrot cages, whilst sad and beautiful music sooths our ears. He sits sobbing on the floor embracing the dead "hero" while all the parrots fly away, regretting his bad lifestyle.
The End. Worst movie plot ever.
