Teenagers...writer, director, producer John Hughes sure had a lot to say about that time in our lives. So is this one of those coming of age tales? Well it was meant to be but, as hollywood tends to do; things got way off track.

This had a lot of potential to be a classic struggling boy meets confused girl and together they figure out the pieces to each others puzzle. I do really admire those type of films but this...this doesn't quite connect the dots.

Something got lost in the go between. It really plays out like a movie that didn't get finished. Like the writer forgot to add the really important parts. Which in reality it seems like big shot movie executives took creative control away from the writer, in this case the legendary John Hughes.

Really quite sad that it turned out this way, because the last chunk of the film is just rushed and throw away nonsense. While the other parts of the move suggest something deep is about to develop. some break through character moment, but that doesnt happen, instead we just get slapstick and cheese.

It feels like a movie that wanted badly to be a romance but instead was transformed into a total kid flick. awkward to say the least. Good god I love Jennifer Connelly. What a waste.
