Review of Cardboard Gangsters (2017) by Ian C — 10 Jul 2017
It didn't live up to the hype but it is a decent crime flick. Connors is solid in the lead but compared to the rest of the gang his accent is totally out of place. The ending is predictable but it is good to see an Irish movie do well at the box office.
The Irish hip-hop soundtrack does contribute to the film's gritty social realism but in general, I can't take it seriously.
