Review of Caramel (2007) by Leili T — 25 Jan 2009
Absolutely loved this movie. Sorry guys, no fights, guns or explosions but a poignant story set around a Beauty parlour in Lebanon. The director (Nadine Labaki) also stars. It looks at the lives of a group of women and their efforts to live life to the fullest despite the grim reality of what is actually happening around them.
It gives an in-sight into what women will do for vanity. Some georgeous looking women star in this and you cant help but get caught-up in their lives. Very hart-warming. The old lady swiping parking tickets and sifting through litter hoping to find the lost love letters sent to her many years ago is touching.
Most will say she is crazy, but even she has not lost hope in finding love.
