Review of Car Wash (1976) by James P — 30 Jul 2006
I watched 7 flicks over the weekend. Fun!
Wallace and Gromit is my favorite film from last year. What a delight! Is there anybody who doesn't like it?
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is sometimes unfairly singled out as an odd numbered bad Trek film. Bullshit! I couldn't imagine calling my self a Trek fan and not liking this one. Paramount's DVD set is a must own too. I'd heard some of the original features weren't produced all that well. True; but the info they have is fascinating.
Car Wash is underrated by a bunch of racists! I know everybody sees that Car Wash = American Graffiti + a lot of soul. ;).
Freaky Friday, the original with Jodie Foster and sexy Barbara Harris. Foster said she was in a transitional period in her life moving from kid to adult. I think it helped this. But she had a lot of nice things to say about the cast and the experience working with Disney Studios.
Used Cars is one of the funniest comedies ever! Excellent ensemble cast with Kurt Russell just right as a shady car dealer/senator hopeful, Jack Warden in 2 distinctly different roles and Peanuts the beagle dog the star of the show. The rest of the cast is great too with Frank McRae, Garrett Graham, "Grandma" from The Munsters and "Lenny & Squiggy" from Laverne & Shirley all stand outs. I love this film.
(to be continued).
