Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Anonymous User — 26 May 2011
Phenomenal documentary. Given the extremely dark subject matter (sexual child abuse) it is in turns disturbing, horrifying, sad, poignant, and funny. The film juxtaposes contradictory reports & opinions from a variety of key people in a way that leaves the viewer questioning.
The home video footage provides an incredibly intimate look into the dynamics of a family under incredible pressure, on the verge of collapsing.
