Review of Captive (2015) by Susan A — 21 Sep 2015
I saw this movie. I find it difficult to give it an honest rating as a movie because it's a real life experience. I don't want to reduce someone's experience to a rating. As for the movie itself I give it 5,stars because I thought the acting was well done and the visual display of this story was well done in my opinion. I don't think it served the movie one way or the other to follow the law enforcement point of view, in fact I think it took away from it because it didn really lend anything to it other than help to fill in time. What I took away the most from this besides the overall theme of God being able to redeem the lives of broken people was the love that He has even for Brian Nichols. Only God can truly care about the heart of a murderer (and maybe a mom or dad),,I went to this movie asking God to show me his love in it and my heart was broken over the way Brian threw not only his life in the trash but stole the lives of others in the process. And all for what? I pray that all those involved in this story will find healing and redemption. God will redeem even the hardest of hearts and the most trashed of lives so I love that that was able to be communicated. Also it shows well the pain that is caused by ones actions in a moment of time. It does well to give people hope, and also to give a visual as to.
The reality of how sin effects others lives.
