Review of Captive (2015) by Shelley H — 22 Sep 2015
I remember well being glued to my own TV set in Atlanta in 2005 when these events took place. It was emotional to watch then as our entire city remained on edge until Brian Nichols was back in custody.
The movie followed the story as it unfolded from public information, to what was happening with law enforcement, and to what we later learned about the events happening with Brian Nichols and Ashley Smith in her apartment.
This movie does a GREAT job telling the story - the true story - of what happened and does so in a compelling way. My husband and I took our 13 year old son to see it, and afterwards asked what he thought (as someone unfamiliar with the events of 2005), and he said, "I'm not used to feeling like this after seeing a movie.
" The emotion in all 3 of us was sincerely felt. The movie is worth seeing because the story is worth knowing.
