This film is based on a true story about a cargo ship that's overtaken by Somali pirates. Tom Hanks plays the captain, who smartly handles the invasion, then bravely endures what comes next. His final scene is the most moving.

The tension holds steadily throughout and builds to an effective climax, although it does run a bit long.
