Review of Captain Nemo and the Underwater City (1969) by Allan C — 05 Oct 2013
Robert Ryan plays the titular Jules Verne character. Chuck Connors plays a US Senator (???) who is among a group of survivors from a sinking ship rescued by Captain Nemo and his submarine crew. They're then taken to Nemo's underwater city, where the he's plotting to destroy the surface world.
It's a pretty dull script, but the production design and special effects are enough to carry the film and make it worth watching.
