Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Kristen S — 08 Dec 2016
Captain Fantastic is a remarkable film which inspires the audience to question our own view of life style, purpose, emotional and physical health, and priorities around work, parenting and learning. Ben is a man who strives to remove the noise of popular culture from his children's lives, and teach them how to learn and form their own opinions about society, both past and present.
When tragedy brings the family into instant contact with life in the "real-world" they are forced to review everything that they have built as a family unit and evaluate the best way for them to go on.
I highly recommend this film for the incredible acting by seasoned professionals, and remarkably talented child ensemble. The physical and emotional preparation that clearly went into creating each character is absolutely astounding. Whether the audience relates with Ben and his children, his in-laws, or finds themselves in the middle, the content will surely leave one leaving with greater personal curiosity to explore their own lifestyle point of view. A must see!
