The movie works because of the likeability of Captain and his family. The director succeeds in making the viewers feel for the Captain despite his many misdemeanours and impracticalities whose burden is being borne by those around.
The movie is slow and lazily meandering. Some sequences are extremely moving and some others uproariously funny.
