Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Charlie C — 24 Jan 2017
It had a nice old school feel to it and all my political biases were in perfect alignment with that Fantastic Philosophy. But all that aside, the main reason I saw this film was to find out if Viggo's nominated performance would have any chance against the rest--Denzel Washington's in particular.
As it turns out, Viggo was NOT the only actor this movie was about, ALL the kids deserve mini-Oscars themselves. Theirs was an ensemble performance rarely seen today. It's a perfect cast, perfect story, set in nature and will definitely make you consider living off the grid or wish the world was in a totally different order all together.
