A great breakthrough for director Matt Ross. Captain Fantastic has beautiful art direction and an interesting concept - even if it is as the name suggests, "fantastical". Viggo Mortensen plays his role well and the movie does well to acknowledge his shortcomings and avoids becoming too preachy.
