Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Paulo%20 N — 10 Dec 2017
The film excels by treating a beaten subject, cliché, and involving with a depth and meaning that you do not even feel the charged charge until you actually reach it. The film leaves that subject in the background for the most part .
.. to where you already admire Ben and his way of life, in the education of his children away from society, in the search to shape them differently from the society and family considered as conventional .
You are seduced by the character of Viggo, perfect in his Ben ... who before being a father is also a leader, captain ... just, open ... agregador, fierce in the creation of his children. The young cast lavishes talent and charisma, with each having its own characteristic and certain depth that allied to his particular talent, gave an air of truth that is impossible not to be enchanted.
The dilemmas, pros and cons of such a creation thus come to the fore most sharply with the need for confrontation with established society, with the eldest son's questioning of his lack of "social tact" in ordinary situations of young people of his age, and also in his personal growth outside the cell created by Ben.
Film of a promising Matt Ross, who does not care to point out the right or wrong, the good the evil .. an impartiality ... but that makes clear the razor wire that is the human being look for his own navel, to the detriment of seek his truth.
his reason for being. Which seems to be more in the middle of the forest. Great !!
