Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Donny Q — 11 Oct 2016

Wonderfully thought provoking, funny, and uplifting movie. This movie made me realize in one fell swoop that while there are aspects of our government that are wonderful, I hate so many things about our culture.

I hate our current political climate, I hate capitalism, I hate how our culture defines "success" (money). We have gone off the edge of the cliff as a society, and I'm not sure there is a path back.

The juxtaposition of skinning a deer to prepare your own food and playing video games at the dinner table while someone else plates already-prepared food is priceless. What more can the US offer that can't be found elsewhere? Thank you Matt Ross for writing and directing this wonderful film.

The acting was amazing. We clearly need more movies from Matt Ross.
