It even manages to exceed expectations, with a strong villain by Marvel standards, a clever tie-in with Marvel's TV series 'Agents of SHIELD,' and events with long-standing implications for the MCU.
A riveting score from Jackman and a typically large-scale climax add up to make this one of the strongest superhero movies in recent memory.
