Review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) by Anthony E — 23 May 2015
I really enjoyed this one. The plot is put together nicely and moves along at a fantastic pace. All the characters are fleshed out and handled beautifully. One thing that strikes me is how different this film is from the other "Avengers" movies and how vastly superior it is to the movie's predecessor.
As told by many other people, "The Winter Soldier" feels more like a spy movie than a superhero movie and, to me, tackles a far more interesting subject than expected. My complaints are minor and have more to do with personal ideas and aren't really worth mentioning, but the the use of camera shake in action scenes annoyed me a tad.
The camera shaking isn't God awful by any means and is easily forgotten after a few minutes of watching, but I'd like to see it gone in movies when it isn't appropriate. I highly recommend this film to anyone that's on the fence about seeing it.
Even if you aren't a Captain America fan I'm sure you will enjoy it, regardless.
